Playing on a child’s love of seeing themselves in the mirror, these facing walls of turned blockwork have been fitted with pieces of mirror and linished stainless steel that show different levels of reflection. Mirror fitted to opposing surfaces also offers children the chance to understand their three dimensional bodies. Using simple materials, Mirror Mirror is intended to be playful, educational and distracting for children entering the childcare centre. Pieces are fitted to the block wall at child and adult height to be enjoyed by all visitors to the centre.
An artwork completed in collaboration with Cumulus Studio, the architects for the new building.
